Help Expand Our Educational Center in Limbe, Haiti!!
Helping Hands Noramise in Limbe, Haiti was founded in January 2010 to offer education, leadership, micro enterprise opportunities for rural women, garden projects, and recreation for youth.
Due to the great need in the community, and the success of these programs we have outgrown our Community Educational Center. We now look for your support to help us with the rent & renovations of the additional building that includes a store front access conveniently located just next door to our main Community Educational Center.
Programs currently offered through our Community Educational Center are:
* IMMI Couture - Micro Enterprise Women's Sewing Collective: a collective of local women who sew and sell women's products and reusable diapers within the local economy and the U.S.
* Food Sovereignty - workshops and classes based on seed saving, permaculture and sustainable crops.
*Computer/Media Resource Center - 5 computers with internet access used for workforce development, tutoring, and geographic education projects collaborating with schools in the United States
Youth Leadership Opportunites offered at the Community Educational Center are:
* Youth Rugby Team - which includes community service involvement, academic support, and mentoring
*Art Workshops - encouraging youth to learn traditional craft skills bringing revenue to their families
*Goat Project - Partnership with Heifer International resulting in responsibility, empowerment and leadership skill development along with fresh goat milk for families
We need your help to raise $5000 to enter into a long-term lease of three years to expand our Educational Community Center and programming into the adjacent property. The lease needs to be executed by August 2016.
The families of Limbe have come to rely on the services and community-building opportunities offered through Helping Hands Noramise. With your generous support, we can offer simultaneous programs for adults and youth daily. These programs change lives by creating sustainable financial resources, in a deeply impoverished area of the world. The young people involved in our programs become leaders and stewards of their city and resources. And most importantly, they gain a sense of hope for their futures.
Thank you so much for your generous contribution to this life changing grass roots organization!
